IFSAM 2018 World Congress to be held at Shanghai International Studies University

 
IFSAM is an association of associations designed to foster the development of international scholarly activities directed at understanding management practices.


More than 100 scholars and specialists from more than 20 countries attended an international conference, “2016 IFSAM (International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management) World Congress,” held in Mexico from May 17 to 20. Two professors of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) were invited as participants.

The conference, themed “New World Equilibrium: Managing Regional Realities,” had 15 discussion topics including crisis management, research methods, management education and the history of management.

Before the conference, Chinese attending scholars, led by Dr. Fan Zheng, Dean of SISU’s School of Business and Management and Dr. Su Zongwei, SISU’s professor of management, attended the IFSAM council meeting in Merida, Mexico, during which the IFSAM 2018 World Congress was voted to be held at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU).

At the conference, the Chinese attendees and the Mexican Yucatán Peninsula Overseas Chinese League (MYPOCL) agreed to sign a cooperation agreement. Its content covers four aspects:(1)“overseas investigating base” of “cross-cultural” social-scientific project and data collection and application platform in Mexico; (2) innovative and venture bases in Mexico for students in the School of Business and Management of SISU; (3) a destination base for Mexican student to go on a overseas studying tour and offering distinctive overseas studying project for students either from the School of Business and Management of SISU or Mexico; (4) platform for the communication and cooperation of Chinese and Mexican companies.

IFSAM (International Federation of Scholarly Association of Management) is an international organization aiming at development in the management studies and cooperation among scholars. IFSAM, established in Frankfurt in 1990has more than 30 members, including Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Canada, China, Sweden, America, Russia and South Africa, with each country having their most influential Institute for Supply Management in IFSAM. SISU co-organized the ninth IFSAM World Congress at Fudan University in 2008.
