Introduction to China Japan Korea Asian women's leadership program

Since 2014, Shanghai International Studies University has actively responded to the spirit of the State leaders' meeting of China, Japan and South Korea and the mechanism initiative of the meeting of education ministers. On the basis of the research and cultural exchanges between China, Japan and South Korea, combined with the characteristics of talent training, our university has jointly carried out a summer student exchange program with the theme of Asian female leadership with the cooperative schools of Japan and South Korea. By 2020, the project has been successfully held for six times, with a total of more than 150 Chinese, Japanese and South Korean students participating. The program strengthens exchanges and cooperation among colleges and universities of the three countries through trilateral people to people and cultural exchanges, enhances mutual understanding among young people of the three countries, and makes contributions to the cultivation of the next generation of outstanding talents in Asia.

To a great extent, women's status reflects the degree of democracy and fairness in a country. How to create a social environment of gender equality and harmonious development based on the social and cultural reality of the three countries, and improve the leadership of the young generation of women, so as to promote the progress of the whole society, is the core issue of the project. Based on this, our university has established cooperation with Showa women's University in Japan and Sungshin University in South Korea to jointly carry out the project of Asian women's leadership in China, Japan and South Korea, which aims to pay attention to the living environment of women in the three countries, reduce gender discrimination, cultivate high-level young women talents and promote cultural exchanges among the young generation in the three countries.

As countries with important influence in Asia and even the world, women in China, Japan and South Korea play an important role in society. The three countries share the same history and culture, and their social development is facing problems such as fewer children and aging. Establishing cooperation and exchange channels for women in the three countries, strengthening communication and cooperation among women in various industries and fields, and establishing an exchange and cooperation platform among female dignitaries and scholars in China, Japan and South Korea can promote women's exchanges in the three countries, promote women's all-round and sustainable development, promote deeper integration of the three countries in a flexible way, and promote prosperity in the Asia Pacific.
