Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives 2016 Recruitment Talk at SISU

A delegation from Chinese Ministryof Foreign Affairs gave 2016 Recruitment Talk at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) late this June.

The delegation was led by Mr. Chen Song, Counsellor of the Policy Planning Department, along with Mr. Zhang Haitao, Director of the Office of Recruitment and Examinations and SISU class of 2008 alumnus Mr. Sun Xufeng, now Attaché of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences.

SISU administrators and the visiting delegation extensively discussed about talent cultivation, agreeing to establish deeper mutual cooperation in the future. Li Yuesong, Vice Chair of SISU’s University Council, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their support to the employment work of SISU.

Counsellor Chen highly affirmed SISU’s academic achievements these years and extended his appreciation to SISU for having recommended a large number of outstanding talents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the delegation presented the latest White Paper of China’s Diplomacy to SISU as gift.

The 2016 recruitment talk of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held later in the West Hall of the University Library. After interpreting China's foreign policy in contemporary international relations, Counsellor Chenencouraged SISU students to devote themselves to China’s diplomacy.

By sharing his own experience, SISU alumnus Sun Xufeng, showed the students the charm of diplomatic work more intuitively. Director Zhang Haitao explained the admissions process of the 2016 recruitment.

During the visit, the delegation members had several extensive discussions with SISU faculty and students. Both sides agreed to develop further cooperation in selecting more outstanding students to join China’s diplomacy.

Last May, SISU built its Student Diplomatic Elite Club (SISUDEC),China’s first student community designed to prepare high-quality diplomats. The delegation expressed their congratulations to the club’s first anniversary on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They promised to offer more support to the club.
