Universidad Antonio de Nebrija delegates visits SISU to advance cooperation

    Universidad Antonio de Nebrijak, established in 1985, was named after Antonio de Nebrija, a SpanishRenaissance scholar best known for writing the grammar of the Castilian language.




Delegates from one of Spain’s best private universities visited Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) recently to discuss further cooperation between the two universities.

The delegation from Universidad Antonio de Nebrijak, including its Vice President Joaquin Espallargas, met with SISU leaders to review progress on compiling teaching material, student exchange programs and developing doctoral programs, which have been in cultivation since 2013. They also discussed setting up Chinese courses, establishing a Spanish center and a joint program of a double-degree doctorate.

The Spanish delegation, including the University’s international department director, Bruno Pujol, and the principal of an international project in the Asia-Pacific area, Tamara Rodil, were greeted by SISU’s vice president Zhang Feng at the Hongkou Campus. They also met with Wang Zheng, associate director of SISU’s Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Yang Ming, deputy dean of the School of European and Latin American Studies.

Zhang discussed SISU’s historical development, curriculum development and employment prospects. He also emphasized SISU’s distinctive philosophy of developing multilingual inter-disciplinary talents and encouraging students to cultivate skills in cross-cultural communication and to widen their global vision through overseas studies.
