Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waikato Visits SISU

On March 13th, Alister Jones, senior deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Waikato, and Mu Lan, deputy director of the International Department visited SISU. Zhang Jing, SISU vice president, met with them at the International Conference Center of Hongkou Campus.

After extending a warm welcome to Alister Jones and his entourage, Zhang Jing introduced the characteristics, disciplinary blueprint and international cooperation initiatives of SISU. She also expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the University of Waikato as SISUs strategic partner in education cooperation and talent training. Zhang hoped that this visit would be an opportunity to jointly expand multi-level and diversified international collaborations, further promoting the education cooperation and teacher-student exchanges between the two universities.

Then, Alister Jones expressed his gratitude for SISUs warm hospitality. He said that the University of Waikato has been cooperating with SISU for more than two decades, mentioning that SISU is the first stop of his 2023 visit in China. He also expressed an eagerness to further and deepen the education cooperation and talents exchanges between the two universities.

During the meeting, representatives of the School of English Studies, the School of Law, the School of Business and Management, and the College for International Cooperative Programs reported on their current exchanges and cooperation with the University of Waikato. The two universities reached an agreement on the direction of future cooperation.

Mao Xiaohong, executive director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Zhang Haibin, dean of the School of Law, Chen Qi, vice dean of the School of English Studies, Zhu Yushan, vice dean of the College for International Cooperative Programs, and Dong Sisi, secretary of foreign affairs of the School of Business and Management, attended the meeting.
