May 8 | President Cao greeted the newly-appointed Consulate General of Bulgaria at Shanghai

On May 8, 2012, Irina Beleva, the newly-appointed Consulate General of Bulgaria, paid a visit to SISU’s Songjiang campus and met with President Cao Deming.

President Cao introduced that SISU started from the Shanghai Russian College. Today it has gained international recognition as a multidisciplinary university producing highly skilled graduates known for their foreign language proficiency, and has established connections with more than 200 oversea universities, international organizations and research institutions. SISU also encouraged students to go beyond borders to further their education and experiences. Though SISU doesn’t provide specific programs on Bulgarian linguistic studies, it has always maintained close relations with Slavic Branch.

Mrs. Beleva talked about the arranged activities which are aimed to introduce Bulgarian culture to Chinese people and to foster cooperation and communications between the two countries. She encouraged both SISU and Bulgarian students to conduct more cultural activities and develop more cultural exchange.
