May 9 | The Vice President of Oman's higher education committee visited SISU

On May 9, President Deming Cao greeted the vice president of Oman’s higher education committee and following visitors. Both sides exchanged ideas on promoting cooperation and conversation.

President Cao introduced SISU to the visitors, and pointed out that the Arabic language program at SISU was started during the 1960s, and was a major project of Chinese education. Currently, SISU has established connections with over 200 oversea education institutions, including many Mideast universities. Prof. Liewei Zhu, the Honorary Director of Mideast research center introduced the current situation of ongoing researches.

 

The vice president of higher education committee appreciated the warm reception, and showed willingness to cooperate with SISU. The vice president introduced the background of Oman’s education, and indicated that the government was encouraging students to seek education in places other than English-speaking countries. He was expecting to see cultural and academic exchange between Oman and SISU. Both sides also talked about the admission of international students, tuition fees and accommodation. President Cao introduced the oversea programs to SISU briefly, and sincerely hoped that Oman students could choose the program that fit themselves and come to SISU. Vice president said that he was more than willing to see conversations between Oman and SISU students. He hoped that Confucius Institute could set foot in Oman to teach Chinese language and culture.
