Mar.25 | China-Arab States Scholars Seminar hold at SISU

On March 25, 2013, more than 40 experts and scholars of international issues and Middle East Studies from Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, Shanghai International Studies University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing University, Northwest University of Nationalities and foreign scholars from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and other countries in the Middle East, gathered at SISU to attend the China-Arab States Scholars Seminar hosted by the Research Center of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

Director of the Research Center and honorary director of Middle East Studies Institute of SISU, Professor Zhu Weilie presided at the opening ceremony. Ambassador Yang Fuchang, former vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech at the ceremony.

The seminar was divided into three sessions and six modules. Participants made deep discussions and exchanges on topics such as “latest developments of the situation in the Middle East and its impact”, “political and economic trends in the transitional Arab countries”, and “China’s role in the Middle East”.
