Chief Executive Officer for Policies, Research and Programs at Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority Visits SISU

On April 17, Yi Yonggang, Vice President of Shanghai International Studies University and Board Member of the China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development, met with a delegation led by Saeed Almarri, Chief Executive Officer for Policies, Research and Programs at Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). The meeting took place in the VIP Room of the International Conference Center on SISU’s Hongkou campus. The two sides held in-depth discussions on higher education cooperation, international Chinese language education, and talent development for China-Arab friendship and cooperation.

Yi welcomed the delegation on behalf of the University and outlined SISU’s educational profile, academic strengths, and international development strategy. He noted that SISU has a strong foundation in Arabic language teaching, Middle East studies, and international Chinese language education. In addition, SISU has long been committed to China-Arab people-to-people exchange and educational cooperation. He said SISU is ready to deepen engagement with the education sector in the UAE, especially in Dubai, and expand practical cooperation in joint training, mutual visits, study programs, and related areas.

Saeed Almarri thanked SISU for its warm hospitality. He spoke highly of SISU’s strengths in language education and area studies, and introduced Dubai’s plans for education development and international cooperation. He expressed the hope that the two sides would work together to advance cooperation in jointly building teaching platforms and promoting two-way student exchanges, while continuing to broaden the scope and raise the level of their partnership.

Both sides agreed that the meeting represented a significant opportunity to strengthen communication and coordination. They also pledged to promote the implementation of cooperation projects and continue deepening China-Arab people-to-people exchange.

Representatives from the China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development, the School of Chinese Studies and Exchange, and the Middle East Studies Institute, attended the meeting.
